Nestled about 50 miles north of historic West Palm Beach on Florida's Treasure Coast, Port St. Lucie has been ranked as US News & World Report's best places to live in America as well as the safest large city in Florida. Home to the NY Mets Spring Training camp, Club Med, the PGA Village and many other sought after attractions. Florida's Treasure Coast gets its name from the lost Spanish Treasure Fleet lost in a 1715 hurricane. The Treasure Coast is also bordered by the Atlantic portion of the Intracoastal Waterway, a stretch of closed water from Brownsville, TX to Boston, MA notably the Indian River and the Indian River Lagoon, at a length of 156 miles, extending from the Ponce de Leon Inlet in Volusia County to Jupiter Inlet in Palm Beach County, the Indian River Lagoon is one the most biodiverse estuaries in the Northern Hemisphere.
